LRC65-01 continues doing sea trials

LRC65-01 Polestar has continued doing sea trials and calibrating systems.

When sailing, her sweet spot is around 2100 RPM, which gives her a cruising speed of 8-8.5 knots. Her exhaust temperature is slightly above 300 degrees C (which is also the minimum for the Iveco 147 HP main engine). At that speed, the fuel usage is around 11 liters per hour.

The solar array, joined by the 48VDC alternator on the main engine, performs as designed. While sailing, the alternator feeds the gyro's power demand. And during the summer months, the solar panels will not need shore power assistance while at the dock.
